Traffic disruptions planned for Mardi Gras parades in south Mississippi

Several Mardi Gras parades in south Mississippi will impact traffic this weekend, with road closures scheduled in Hattiesburg, Long Beach, and Gautier.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, Hardy Street between U.S. 90 and 40th Avenue in Forrest County will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Caerus Mardi Gras Parade, according to officials. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.

The same day, U.S. 90 between Jeff Davis Avenue and South Cleveland Avenue in Harrison County will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Long Beach Mardi Gras Parade. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes during this time.

Additionally, U.S. 90 between Gautier Vancleave Road and Beasley Road in Jackson County will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the Gautier Mardi Gras Night Parade. Authorities recommend planning ahead to avoid traffic delays.
