Traffic switch on Mississippi State Route 57 near Jackson to last six months

State Route 57 between Interstate 10 and just north of Humphrey Road in Jackson County will undergo a traffic switch starting at 7 a.m. January 21, according to transportation officials.

The switch is part of a widening and construction project on SR 57. Northbound traffic will be directed onto the southbound lanes in a head-to-head configuration for about four miles from I-10 to north of Humphrey Road, a process expected to last for approximately six months.

Motorists are advised to exercise extra caution while driving through the area. Officials also noted that wide loads are not permitted during this time. Drivers can find more information and view maps online.
