Tupelo man arrested after seizure of suspected cocaine and $175,000, authorities say

Authorities arrested a Tupelo man March 5 after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected cocaine, marijuana and more than $175,000 in cash, the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit said.

Anthony Christopher Dixon, 46, of Tupelo, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine, the narcotics unit said. Tupelo Municipal Court records show Judge Willie Allen ordered Dixon held without bond.

Agents stopped a black Ford F-150 on South Eason Boulevard in Tupelo and established probable cause to search the vehicle, the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit said. The search turned up a felony amount of suspected cocaine and marijuana in the truck, the unit said.

Investigators then obtained and executed a search warrant at Dixon’s home on Pierce Street, where they found more than 1 1/2 pounds of suspected cocaine, one pound of suspected marijuana and in excess of $175,000 in U.S. currency, the narcotics unit said. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending, the unit said.
