Tupelo Police Report 27 Arrests in Gun-Related Cases

The Tupelo Police Department said it made 27 arrests over the past 12 months in cases involving homicides, aggravated assaults, shootings into dwellings and motor vehicles, discharging a firearm within city limits and armed robberies.

The department said arrests were made in both gun-related homicides during that period. It said there have been 10 aggravated assaults over the past 12 months, with arrests made in eight of those cases. Over the past six months, aggravated assaults have a 100% arrest rate, the department said.

The department said anyone who uses a firearm to commit a crime in Tupelo will be found and arrested.

The Tupelo Police Department released mugshots of several individuals arrested on violent gun-related charges and said the images were intended as a reminder that neither the victims nor the department forget.
