Wind advisory begins at 11 a.m.; gusts near 40 mph expected
The National Weather Service in Memphis warned a wind advisory will go into effect at 11 a.m. today.
The office said gusts approaching 40 mph are anticipated in northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel.
It added that conditions will remain gusty elsewhere in the area.
The weather service advised residents to secure any loose outdoor items.
