Burglary Suspect Apprehended in Tupelo
According to the Tupelo Police Department, a recent vehicle burglary incident led to the arrest of Jordan H. Smith (22) on July 20, 2024. The incident, reported at approximately 2:05 AM on Scott Street, prompted officers to respond swiftly after receiving a report of a vehicle break-in. Upon arrival at the scene, officers gathered information from the property owner and were able to locate the suspect in close proximity. Smith was subsequently taken into custody.
Following an investigation into the matter, Smith was formally charged with Burglary of a Vehicle on the same day. The legal proceedings progressed as Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Smith’s bond at $15,000 on July 21, 2024. The case is scheduled to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further consideration.
