Clouds, moisture move out; northeast Mississippi to see mostly dry, pleasant conditions through Tuesday

Cloud cover and atmospheric moisture are moving out of the area, producing mostly dry, pleasant conditions across northeast Mississippi and lowering the chance of rain through Tuesday.

WCBI in Columbus, Miss., reported Oct. 5, 2026, that drier air is expected to push into the region, reducing shower chances and clearing skies by late afternoon into the evening.

MONDAY: The chance for showers has been decreasing; one or two isolated showers may occur in southern counties but WCBI said it is more likely no rain will fall. The high temperature will be 88°. Skies will be mostly cloudy to start, becoming clear late in the afternoon and into the evening. It may be breezy, with northeasterly sustained winds near 10 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT: Skies are expected to stay mostly clear. The low will be 58°, with northeasterly winds around 5 mph.

TUESDAY: Sunny and pleasant with a high near 89° and easterly winds near 5 mph, WCBI said.
