District attorney recuses himself from Curtis Flowers murder trial
After 20 years and 6 trials, the district attorney in the Curtis Flowers murder trial has recused himself from the case.
Doug Evans will not be the prosecutor for any future murder trials of Flowers.
Flowers spent the last two decades professing his innocence and seeing his conviction repeatedly thrown out, only to be retried.
Flowers was the subject of several media inquiries into his case, including by the In the Dark podcast.
He is currently out on bail.
