The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday that a Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeño peppers has sickened 345 people across 27 states.
Traceback information found that the affected jalapeños came from Sinaloa, Mexico, and were distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors, the agency said.
There have been no reported deaths and 36 hospitalizations, the agency said.
The CDC provided the information in a report Wednesday. The agency attributed the connections between the illnesses and the jalapeños to its traceback findings.
