Packers top Panthers 27-19 at Lambeau; Christian Watson returns from hospital
Green Bay defeated Carolina 27-19 at Lambeau Field, keeping pace in the NFC North after a Week 8 victory that featured three touchdown passes from Jordan Love.
Fox News reported that Love finished with 288 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Carolina quarterback Bryce Young was sacked six times and threw an interception.
Fox News said Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was taken to a hospital for examination after sustaining a chest injury on a 53-yard catch in the second quarter, then returned to Lambeau Field and to the game in the second half. Watson had six catches for 100 yards before leaving the game.
The report added that Panthers cornerback Will Lee was injured on the same play, was carted to the locker room with a hamstring injury and did not return.
Fox News also reported that less than 24 hours after the Milwaukee Brewers won the franchise’s first World Series title, Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff brought the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field at Lambeau Field at the end of the first quarter, joined by teammates Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick.
The Packers are scheduled to face New England on Nov. 8. The Panthers will host the Denver Broncos in Week 9, Fox News reported. Fox News said The Associated Press contributed to the report.
