President Trump late Thursday blamed former President Joe Biden and his administration for what he called the United States’ “decline,” saying Chinese President Xi Jinping had referred to the country as “perhaps being a declining nation” as the two leaders met during a high-stakes visit, Trump said.
“When President Xi very elegantly referred to the United States as perhaps being a declining nation, he was…” Trump said.
Trump invoked his predecessor in attempting to explain Xi’s comments, according to his remarks late Thursday as the leaders met.
