President Donald Trump spoke at the “Salute to America” Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C., on the Fourth of July, and in his remarks he highlighted U.S. military veterans, the Artemis II crew and an early version of the American flag, he said.
Trump praised veterans for their service and singled out the Artemis II crew for their role in space exploration, according to his speech.
He pointed to an early American flag as a symbol of the nation’s history and referenced other subjects during the address, the president said.
The event, billed as the “Salute to America” Freedom 250, was part of Independence Day observances in the capital, according to the event name and timing.
