United Airlines may remove, ban passengers who do not use headphones

United Airlines’ updated passenger guidelines say passengers who do not use headphones while listening to audio or watching video could be removed from flights and potentially permanently banned, according to the airline’s Contract of Carriage.

The Contract of Carriage rules were reportedly updated in late February to include passengers “who fail to use headphones while listening to audio or…,” the document states.

The change covers activities such as listening to music or watching a movie without headphones, according to the airline’s passenger guidelines.

Passengers seeking further details are advised to consult United’s Contract of Carriage for the airline’s full rules and policies.
