Inmate sentenced to 30 years for battery and burglary in Tippah County escapes

Escapee sought.

Area law enforcement agencies are searching for escaped state inmate Ryan Scott Burks, who was serving a sentence for a sex crime and has ties to Tippah County.

Burks, a 39 white male, escaped the Carroll County Correctional Facility in Vaiden, Mississippi earlier today, September 11th, 2024.

Burks is currently serving a 30 year sentence for sexual battery and residential burglary in Tippah County, Mississippi. He was sentenced on January 17, 2006 and has been at the facility since.
