University of Mississippi students found dead in Oxford on Sept. 21, 2026, have been identified as Aidan Hamilton, a freshman from Englewood, Colorado, and Robert Strang, a junior from Atlanta, Georgia, school officials said in a statement sent to CBS affiliate WREG.
WCBI reported that the two were discovered Sept. 21 — one on campus and the other at a home in Oxford. LaFayette County Metro Narcotics is investigating the case alongside other local and state partners, the report said.
Investigators said the cause of death remains undetermined pending toxicology results. They also said packaged Kratom sold from a retail store was found at the scene of both cases.
School officials told WREG that the families of the victims have asked for privacy as they grieve.
