Ripley’s Skylar Flake drills buzzer beater to win at Myrtle summer league

Ripley, competing in the Myrtle Summer League, used their opening game to get some younger players minutes against a 1A girls playoff team from West Union.

Trailing by 1 and with West Union having the ball at the free throw line with only 6 seconds to go, the Lady Tigers prospects looked bleak.

A missed free throw, outlet pass and pull-up 3 from Flake amidst screams of “shoot it” from her team mates led to the odds beating buzzer beater.

Flake will play some contributing minutes for a talented Tigers team with high expectations this season. Shots like this one prove why.
