A traffic advisory says the median crossover on Brookway Boulevard just west of I-55 in Lincoln County is closed for roughly one month while crews work on an interchange reconstruction project.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said two ramps will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, for an interstate resurfacing project.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said FEMA is still reviewing the state’s request for Individual Assistance, but Public Assistance is available in 38 counties.

North Mississippi Narcotics Unit agents arrested a 46-year-old Tupelo man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected cocaine, marijuana and more than $175,000, authorities said.

The National Weather Service office in Memphis issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee until 7 p.m. CDT, warning of large hail and damaging winds.

A radar update at 3:30 p.m. CDT said a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms were moving across the area and had increased in intensity, posing a risk of damaging winds and large hail.
