Area given a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today
The National Weather service in Memphis has given our area a Hazardous weather outlook for New Year Eve as part of a series of storms moving through the area.
According to the NWS:
Severe thunderstorms are possible during the day today, east of the Mississippi River. Damaging winds will remain the primary severe weather threat. An isolated tornado or two is possible. Localized heavy rainfall is also possible.
Counties included in this outlook inlcude Alcorn, Benton, Prentiss, Tippah, Union and much of Northeast Mississippi.
This series of storms has produced tornadoes in central Mississippi and a significant weather advisory has been issued for Benton County.
