Fred’s to close all of its remaining stores as it files for bankruptcy
Freds is set to close all of their remaining stores as they seek Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.
The company is looking to liquidate its assets with going out of business sales set to begin soon.
The chain feels it will have its business wrapped up within 60 days.
Earlier this year, Fred’s had over 500 stores open. They were down to just 80, including the Ripley store, as recently as last week.
Nationwide, this follows a growing trend of retail locations closing with over 4,000 stores having closed this year and several thousand more in the process of closing for good.
