MDOC asking for public’s help locating escaped inmate

The MDOC is asking for help locating an escapee from a state work detail unit.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) is looking for an individual who left supervision earlier this afternoon.

Dennis Farrell Blansett (MDOC#216595) was on a work detail for the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) at about 1:09 p.m. and was last seen in the area of Highway 51 three miles north of Bogue Chitto.

Blansett, 46, stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 160 pounds. He has hazel eyes and bushy salt-pepper color hair.

Blansett is housed at the Pike County Community Work Center. His record includes convictions on five counts of non-residential burglary and one count of taking a motor vehicle in Marion County. If you see Blansett, please call 662-745-6611 or your nearest law enforcement agency.
