Mississippi Governor signs bill for car tag with alternative MS flag without Confederate emblem
Mississippi Governer Phil Bryant signed legislation on Wednesday for a specialty car tag that uses the “Stennis flag”: a proposed alternative to the State of Mississippi flag that does not include the Confederate battle emblem.
The Stennis Flag was designed by Laurin Stennis, a noted Mississippi artist and the granddaughter of the late Senator John C. Stennis.
The Stennis Flag “pays homage to our state’s past and embraces the future,” according to the flags website.
