Mississippi WIC Program to Transition Infant Formula Provider in September

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has announced a major update to its Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program that will affect thousands of families across the state.

Beginning September 1, 2025, the standard infant formula brand provided through the WIC Program will change from Enfamil to Similac.

According to MSDH, the change is part of the state’s effort to continue providing nutritious options for infants while aligning with updated program requirements.

What’s Changing:

  • Enfamil Infant → Similac Advance
  • Enfamil Gentlease → Similac Sensitive
  • Enfamil AR → Similac Total Comfort
  • Enfamil Reguline → Similac Total Comfort
  • Enfamil Simply Plant Based (Prosobee) → Similac Soy Isomil

MSDH emphasized that this update only applies to standard infant formulas and does not affect medical formulas.

Families who received WIC benefits for Enfamil in August 2025 will still be able to use them until they expire in September.

The agency encouraged participants with questions to contact the WIC Vendor Management Unit at vmu@msdh.ms.gov or visit msdh.ms.gov/similac.
