In a type of scam that is being reported across the nation, phone scammers are calling Ripley Gas and Water customers threatening disconnect if they don’t make a payment over the phone.
According to Mayor Marsalis:
“Report of phone scammers posing as City of Ripley demanding payment, threatening disconnect. IT’S BOGUS! Do not give them money!”
Report the number of the caller and any information to authorities to help prevent this type of thing. And spread the word so no one falls for this scam!
