Statewide burn ban lifted by governor
The statewide burn ban in Mississippi due to unseasonably hot and dry conditions has been lifted.
The burn ban was put into place on October 2nd.
At the time, Governor Bryant said ” The State has been and will continue to be adversely affected by extremely dry conditions, and as a result wildfires are occurring increasingly over wide areas of Mississippi.”
Countywide burn bans are still in place.
