Tippah County Hosts Crime Stoppers Appreciation Luncheon in Tupelo

On Feb. 1, 2024, the Tippah County community participated in the annual Crime Stoppers Appreciation and Awards Luncheon held in Tupelo, according to Local Source. The event brought together numerous law enforcement agencies, city officials, and county representatives from across Northeast Mississippi to honor outstanding service and discuss critical issues like human trafficking in the region.

Sheriff Jim Johnson of Lee County delivered the keynote address, highlighting the ongoing fight against human trafficking in Northeast Mississippi. The ceremony also recognized several law enforcement officers for their bravery and dedication, including Lt. Aaron Austin of Corinth PD, who received a life-saving award, and retired Lee County Constable Phil Gann, honored with a lifetime service award.

Community and law enforcement leaders expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts to improve public safety. The event also honored Lt. David Harville and CPT Robert Vail for their coordination roles. Additional co-coordinators were unable to attend. These annual awards help strengthen community ties and encourage continued dedication to safety and justice in Tippah County and surrounding areas.
