Tombigbee Fiber Issues Safety Warning After Crews Report Gunfire in Work Zone

Tombigbee Fiber is urging the public to use caution after its field crews reported hunters firing in their direction while working this week. Company officials described the situation as “dangerous and unacceptable,” noting that the safety of employees and the community is at risk.

The utility stressed the importance of uninterrupted internet service, pointing out that broadband access is vital for work, emergency communications such as 911, healthcare and telemedicine, security, and everyday life.

Tombigbee Fiber called on the public to respect both line workers and their neighbors, asking hunters and others in rural areas to be mindful of crews working nearby.
