Two Brothers Killed in Shooting at Blue Mountain After-Prom Party

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Two brothers were shot and killed early Sunday morning during an after-prom gathering in the Blue Mountain area, according to the Tippah County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a residence around 1 a.m. on March 29. Investigators believe a large altercation involving multiple individuals broke out at the party and escalated into gunfire.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not yet been released pending notification of family members, but officials confirmed the victims were brothers.

Tippah County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Chris McCallister said the case remains under active investigation. While no arrests have been announced, authorities indicated the individuals believed to be involved are not considered an ongoing threat to the public.
