WALNUT, Miss. – A Walnut man lost his life this week in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 72, according to a release from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Authorities said that 2018 Ford F-150 driver Roger Barnes of Walnut was traveling along Highway 72 in Alcorn County when his truck left the roadway and struck an embankment.
Barnes sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene according to the release from the Highway Patrol.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the wreck. We will update this story as more information is available for release.
