Tupelo Police Investigate Two Separate Shootings

Authorities from the Tupelo Police Department are currently probing two separate shooting incidents that unfolded over the weekend in residential areas, according to the Tupelo Police Department.

The first incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 20, 2024, prompting officers to respond swiftly to reports of gunfire near Adams Street and Kelly Street in East Tupelo. Witnesses recounted hearing gunshots and observing two black males on Adams St. firing at a vehicle situated on Kelly St. During the incident, bullets struck both an occupied residence and a parked vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The suspects were last seen fleeing in the direction of Veterans Blvd. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Less than 24 hours later, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, another shooting incident was reported around 1:30 AM in the 200 block area of Tedford Street. Witnesses described seeing a slender black male dressed in jeans firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene. Officers responding to the scene discovered two parked vehicles had been struck by bullets. Again, there were no reported injuries. Authorities continue to investigate this second incident.
