A high speed chase that initiated in Desoto County and continued on into Union county has left one dead, a state trooper in the hospital and two in custody according to law enforcement officials.

Two suspects were fleeing in what authorities believe was a stolen vehicle when they were involved in a vehicle accident on I-22 near Byhalia. That accident claimed one persons life.

The suspects then got into another vehicle and were pursued again before being involved in a head on collision with Highway Patrol near the Glenfield exit in New Albany on I22, or as was previously knows as Highway 78.
