At around 1 p.m. on December 29th, police were called to a home in rural Itawamba County with reports of a girl being held hostage. SWAT units and other hostage negotiators were called in to assist.
It was later confirmed that there were two males in the residence, but only one was holding the girl hostage. The status of the other male is unknown at this time.
We have tried contacting authorities in Itawamba county to get an update. We will provide those details as they come in.
