Mississippi Winter: Saturday strong storms give way to snow/ice possibility
It wouldn’t be winter in Mississippi without the National Weather Service putting out a notice for strong thunderstorms giving way to the possibility of snow and ice in the same day.
From the NWS:
A few strong thunderstorms will be possible across north Mississippi on Saturday afternoon. Damaging winds will be the primary threat. A brief period of wintry precipitation is possible across portions of the Mid-South late Saturday night as a strong cold front moves through the Lower Mississippi Valley.
Some minor snow accumulation, likely 1 to 2 inches or less, is possible, mainly over portions of the Missouri Boot Heel, Northeast Arkansas, and West Tennessee.Wintry precipitation is possible across portions of the Mid-South late Saturday night and early Sunday morning as a strong cold front moves through the Lower Mississippi Valley. Stay tuned to later forecasts this week as uncertainty remains with this system.
Buckle up and keep an eye on the weather.
