Threat of damaging winds, severe storms, tornado can’t be ruled out starting tonight
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is warning of a severe storm threat starting at around 10 pm tonight, and continuing through the early morning tomorrow.
This is part of a system that will bring strong winds, storms and convert to a threat of winter weather on Saturday night into Sunday.
Here is the latest severe weather outlook from the National Weather Service. A large portion of the state has been elevated to slight risk, with damaging winds of 60+ mph being the greatest threat. Tornadoes, although a low threat at this time, are still possible. The current time frame for the possibility of severe weather is Friday night through Saturday afternoon.
