North MS woman charged with embezzling from water association

A woman in north Mississippi has been arrested and charged with embezzlement according to the arresting police agency.

From the Prentiss County Sheriffs Department:

On April 17th 2019 the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department arrested Janet Lynn Patton (54) of Booneville after an affidavit was signed by the New Candler Water Association.

She is charged with Embezzlement and is accused of taking $40,268.04 from the New Candler Water Association. Judge Richard Tollison set bond at $50,000.00. The case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
