South Tippah puts out graduation guidelines for one at a time ceremonies

The South Tippah School District put out guidelines for Blue Mountain, Pine Grove and Ripley graduation ceremonies.

From STSD:

One of the highlights of the high school experience is the student hearing their name called out, walking across the stage in cap and gown and receiving their diploma.

Pictures are made and deep emotions are felt by family members present, celebrating this milestone in life and the culmination of years of hard work. We all are well aware of the tremendous change each of us has dealt with in the past two month period.

While hopeful for the future, our students and teachers know for sure that our face-to-face meetings at the school building will not occur this school year. Some individuals and families in our community have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are unable to alleviate most of these effects, other than to offer our love and support. Yet, one we have been especially concerned with as a school district is how it has affected our senior students, unable to experience the final months of their senior year.

To help as best we can to commemorate this moment for our seniors, the high schools of the South Tippah School District plan to implement private graduation ceremonies for each student and their families. Arrangements will be made for a small number of family members to be present in person at these ceremonies, as these students walk across the stage in their graduation regalia to receive the diploma they so rightly deserve.

The ceremony will be professionally videoed, compiled together, and made available for each family to have permanently. The administration of Blue Mountain, Pine Grove, and RIpley high schools will be contacting each senior’s family with specific details about the ceremony.

We look forward to celebrating this event with each senior and their family! Frank Campbell Superintendent
