Additional death and more cases of COVID19 reported in Tippah County

One additional death and more cases of COVID19 were reported in Tippah County on Saturday by the Mississippi Department of Health. The numbers are through Friday, May 8th.

The totals in Tippah County now stand at 11 deaths and 65 cases.

From MSDH:

Today MSDH is reporting 288 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 12 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 9,378, with 421 deaths. The number of Mississippians currently hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection is now 436.

61 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now 113 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
