Dr. Kristy Church is this month’s recipient of the Northeast Way Award for her exceptional support and mentorship of students in nursing education.

Northeast Mississippi Community College said it will host the Mississippi Science & Engineering Fair on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Bonner Arnold Coliseum with 330 projects from seventh- through 12th-grade students and a need for volunteer judges.

Northeast NEMCC said it is accepting applications for its Respiratory Therapy Program, with a May 1, 2026 deadline. The college said the program prepares students to care for patients and work with healthcare teams.

Anthony Linton, a Chicago native and nontraditional student, is studying in Northeast’s HVAC program and is a member of the Honors Institute and Phi Theta Kappa, the college said.

Northeast President Ford told host Liz Calvery that strong academics and programs such as the Tiger Apprenticeship Program make the college a good choice on the April 1, 2026, episode of the TigerTalk podcast.

Practical Nursing students at Northeast teamed with Baptist Memorial Hospital‑Booneville to hand out stickers, temporary tattoos and “Tiger buddies” to children during visits, the school said.

Organizers said students can pick up free professional clothing for graduation, job interviews and uniforms on April 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at Holliday Hall.

NEMCC says its Drafting, Design and 3-D Modeling program teaches AutoCAD, Revit and SolidWorks and includes a professional portfolio by graduation. The college says small classes and real-world projects prepare students for jobs in architecture, engineering and manufacturing.

Northeast Mississippi Community College said it was named a 2026 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges award winner, calling the campus a place people are proud to be part of.

Northeast said its full-time Radiologic Technology program accepts a competitive class of 12 and readies students for the ARRT national certification exam. Applications are due May 1.
