Most downtown Ripley shops will stay open until 7 p.m. tonight as part of the ‘Downtown After Hours’ series, Ripley Main Street said. The Cut-Off will host Elvis-themed music bingo with prizes at 7 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Ripley announced an evening celebration called 250 Years of Freedom featuring live bluegrass, food and fireworks, the church said. Organizers invited the public to attend and directed people to a flyer for details.

Organizers at The Cut-Off said weather forced the postponement of Elvis Bingo Night and they are working on a new date. The venue asked patrons to stay tuned for an announcement.

Blue Mountain Christian University said it has named students to its President’s List and Dean’s Lists, honors the school described as recognition of outstanding academic achievement. The university posted the full lists on its website.
