The City of Ripley announced a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, near Ripley High School to mark the nation’s 250th birthday.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said its Driver Service Bureau held an annual General Assembly earlier this week and recognized employees and stations with awards.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation on June 19 warned motorists that flash flooding is affecting several roads in south Mississippi and urged extreme caution. MDOT listed specific flooded roadways and advised drivers to use the MDOT Traffic app or MDOTtraffic.com for updates.
