#NEMCC is mourning the death of Harvey Childers, a former head coach of the college’s basketball team. Childers led the Tigers from 1985 to 1992, winning 192 games during his tenure, according to the college.
He guided the team to three trips to the NJCAA tournament and finished as national runner-up in 1989. Childers remains the fourth-winningest coach in program history, the college said.
The college extended its condolences to his family. No additional details about his death were provided.
