17-year-old charged with aggravated assault after Tupelo shooting
Tupelo police said officers responded April 12 to North Green Street near Jefferson Street after reports of shots fired and found a person with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Medical personnel arrived on scene and the victim was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center, the Tupelo Police Department said. Officers and the department’s Criminal Investigation Division processed and gathered evidence at the scene.
After an investigation, the department said Kieston K. Williams, 17, of Tupelo, was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Lee County Circuit Court Judge White ordered Williams held on $50,000 bond, the court said. The Tupelo Police Department said the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
