Arctic air brings cold wind chills to Mid-South, with some areas in single digits
Gusty north winds are pushing arctic air into the Mid-South on Friday evening. Temperatures are primarily in the 20s and 30s, according to weather reports.
However, wind chill readings are significantly lower. Most of the region is experiencing wind chills in the teens and 20s. Some areas north of Interstate 40 are already seeing wind chills in the single digits, the National Weather Service said.
The cold front is expected to persist through the night, bringing continued frigid conditions to the area.
