Booneville Continues Storm Recovery Efforts Amid Ongoing Operations
The city of Booneville is continuing its response and recovery efforts following a recent ice storm, according to city officials. Emergency coordination remains ongoing with Prentiss County Emergency Management Agency Director Bud Lindsey.
Utilities including natural gas and water wells are operational, and crews are addressing small leaks across all areas, the city reported. Donations of bottled water, blankets, staple food items, and hygiene products are arriving and will be distributed at a later date, with details to be announced.
The Booneville Street Department has been working to clear storm debris and improve access on city streets. Assistance from the nearby city of Amory has been received, with six crew members helping with cleanup efforts. The Mississippi National Guard is also assisting with street clearance operations.
Communication with the Booneville School District remains active. The city’s warming station at Swift Park will stay open through the weekend. Officials expressed gratitude to volunteers who have prepared meals, donated supplies, and supported residents during the crisis.
The Booneville Police and Fire Departments continue to provide support, and city and county officials are maintaining ongoing communication and coordination.
