Cold snap brings frigid wind chills across the region

Temperatures and wind chills reached record lows across the area this morning, according to weather observations. The National Weather Service reported the lowest wind chill values in several communities, with some areas experiencing wind chills below zero degrees Fahrenheit.

Officials warn residents to take precautions against frostbite and hypothermia. Wind chills can make the air feel significantly colder than the actual temperature, increasing the risk of cold-related health issues.

Forecasters expect temperatures to gradually rise later today, but the cold weather is expected to persist through the week. Residents are advised to dress warmly and limit time outdoors during the coldest hours.
