Very cold temperatures are forecast to persist through Tuesday, according to weather officials. The frigid conditions are expected to bring below-average temperatures across the region.
Meteorologists say temperatures will begin to moderate and return to near-normal levels by mid to late next week. No significant weather events are expected to accompany the temperature shift.
