Crash blocks northbound I-220 in Jackson; lanes cleared, MDOT says

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said a crash on I-220 north past U.S. 80 West (Exit 1B) blocked all northbound lanes and backed up traffic in Jackson.

MDOT said the lanes were cleared at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 21, 2026, according to a department traffic update.

The department posted the warning to its traffic feed and included a link to its online traffic map for real-time conditions: https://www.mdottraffic.com/?a=563643, MDOT said.

MDOT addressed the message to Jackson drivers. The agency did not provide further details about the cause of the crash or any injuries in its post.
