Derrick Denman gets 10-year sentence for meth trafficking in Mississippi

Derrick Lerenzo Denman was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine in Lee County, Mississippi, according to court records.

On February 12, 2026, Circuit Court Judge John R. White sentenced Denman to a total of 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The sentence includes 30 years suspended, leaving 10 years to serve on a day-for-day basis. Denman will not be eligible for parole or early release. After his release, he must complete five years of post-release supervision.

The investigation into Denman’s activities was conducted by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. The District Attorney’s Office commended the agencies for their efforts in disrupting narcotics distribution in the district.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French on behalf of the state. Jason D. Herring is the district attorney for the First Circuit Court District.
