Drought Conditions Return to Eastern Arkansas Amid Lack of Rainfall
A lack of significant rainfall has led to the return of extreme (D3) drought conditions in parts of eastern Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service.
Elsewhere in the region, severe (D2) and moderate (D1) drought conditions persist. Long-range weather models indicate a high likelihood of heavy precipitation late next week, which could alleviate current drought conditions.
Officials expect all drought conditions to end or improve by the end of April, contingent on upcoming weather patterns. The latest drought information statement can be found at the National Weather Service website: https://www.weather.gov/MEG/DroughtInformationStatement.
