The Tupelo Police Department said a fatal traffic crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle occurred on North Gloster Street near MDOT. The department said the scene was later cleared and North Gloster Street was reopened.
Officers established a heavy presence in the area and initially closed the street, the department said. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation was under way.
The department did not provide details on the number of victims, their identities or the cause of the crash, the Tupelo Police Department said.
More information will be released as it becomes available, the department said.
