Mississippi DOT crews work through snow and ice to clear roads
Mississippi Department of Transportation crews are working tirelessly to clear snow, ice, and debris from roads in the Mississippi Delta and northern counties, despite harsh weather conditions, according to a department post.
First responders remain committed to reopening roads to facilitate access for emergency personnel. Crews have been tackling fallen trees and hazardous road conditions in Carroll, Holmes, and Yalobusha counties, the department said.
MDOT officials described the effort as boots-on-the-ground work, often performed with frozen fingers but full hearts. The department emphasized the importance of their work in public service during severe winter weather.
